Cote Gold Mine is an open-pit gold mining project in northern Ontario.
The Ct Gold Mine is a large-scale, open-pit gold mining project located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 125 kilometers southwest of Timmins. It is a joint venture between IAMGOLD Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd., with IAMGOLD holding a 60% interest. Construction of the mine began in 2020, and it achieved commercial production in the third quarter of 2024. The mine is expected to produce an average of 365,000 ounces of gold annually over an 18-year mine life, with higher production in the initial years. Ct Gold employs autonomous drilling and hauling systems, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. The project has also focused on sustainability, with initiatives aimed at minimizing environmental impact and engaging with local communities.
