IAMGOLD Corporation is a Canadian-based intermediate gold producer and developer, publicly traded on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges under the tickers IAG and IMG and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1990, the company employs several thousand people and operates gold mines in North America and West Africa. Its producing operations are the Côté Gold mine in northern Ontario — among the largest gold mines in production in Canada, which IAMGOLD operates in a 70/30 partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining — the Westwood underground mine in Quebec, and the Essakane mine in Burkina Faso. Located roughly 125 kilometres southwest of Timmins near Gogama, Côté Gold reached commercial production in 2024 and is the first gold mine in North America designed and built for a fully autonomous haulage fleet, running self-driving haul trucks and drills managed from a central integrated operations centre. The large-scale open-pit operation is designed for a mine life of more than 18 years, and represents one of the newest and most technologically advanced gold mines in Canada. IAMGOLD also holds a portfolio of exploration and development projects in high-potential mining districts, including the large-scale Nelligan Mining Complex in Quebec.
