Wolverine Mine
Join a leading mining operation with job openings across various operator, technical, maintenance, and labour roles.

Wolverine Mine is a metallurgical coal mining operation in northeastern BC.
The Wolverine Mine, located approximately 15 miles south of Tumbler Ridge in northeastern British Columbia, is an open-pit metallurgical coal operation. It features a coal processing plant and a rail load-out facility capable of handling 2.0 to 2.5 million metric tons per year, producing premium metallurgical coal essential for steelmaking. Initially developed by Western Canadian Coal, the mine commenced production in 2006. In 2010, Walter Energy acquired the mine, but due to financial challenges, it was placed into care and maintenance in 2014. In 2016, Conuma Coal Resources Limited purchased the mine and resumed operations, contributing to the local economy and providing employment opportunities. The Wolverine Mine remains a significant player in British Columbia's coal industry, balancing economic contributions with environmental and community considerations.
