Nasittuq Corporation is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician - Vehicle Mechanic to support operations at its remote radar sites across Arctic Canada. This rotational camp position includes a 6-week on, 6-week off schedule with 48-hour workweeks, paid travel days (up to 2), and all associated travel expenses covered. Workers are housed in private accommodations with provided meals, Wi-Fi, laundry, and recreation. The role involves hands-on vehicle, heavy equipment, and snow equipment maintenance in extreme Arctic conditions, with full benefits, northern living allowance, and Arctic gear included.

Responsibilities
This role covers the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment at remote Arctic radar sites:
- Maintain and repair vehicles, snowmobiles, heavy equipment, and generators
- Perform diagnostics and corrective maintenance on various land and snow vehicles
- Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to staff
- Assist with snow-clearing and aircraft loading/unloading
- Support fuel sampling and off-loading operations
- Travel between adjacent radar locations as required
- Document and file maintenance reports using work management systems
Requirements
Candidates must meet certification, licensing, and physical requirements for remote camp operations:
- High school diploma or equivalent (combination of experience and education accepted)
- Valid driver's license
- Qualified 310S and/or 310T Motor Vehicle Mechanic with diesel endorsement preferred
- Provincial/Territorial Certificate of Qualification required
- Military QL 5 or journeyman equivalent in automotive or heavy equipment repair
- Minimum 5 years field experience, with recent heavy equipment exposure
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and task prioritization skills
- Ability to work in cold, isolated, and cross-cultural environments
