Utility Miner - Meliadine Gold Mine - 14x14 FIFO Mining
Agnico Eagle is hiring Utility Miners for the Meliadine Mine, a remote fly-in/fly-out mining operation in Canada. This 14 days on / 14 days off rotational underground mining role supports both construction and production teams by operating mining and construction equipment, assisting with concrete and form work, supporting stope preparation and mucking activities, helping pipe crews and long hole blasters, and delivering cement slurry for cemented rock fill (CRF) operations. The position includes camp accommodations, onsite meals, charter flights to and from site, and additional travel support based on the employee’s location of residence in Canada.

Responsibilities
The Utility Miner supports underground mine construction and production at Meliadine by operating specialized mining equipment, assisting crews with development tasks, and supporting cement and backfill activities.
- Operate construction and mining equipment such as jackleg, stoper, shotcrete machine, concrete truck, zoom boom, and scissor lift.
- Operate high-pressure grout pumps to cement water inflows underground.
- Assist construction and production teams with tasks such as building forms and foundations, pouring concrete floors, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems such as bulkheads.
- Support the production team with stope preparation for solo and mucking activities.
- Tension cable and drill services as part of underground support work.
- Assist the pipe crew and long hole blasters in their regular tasks.
- Deliver cement slurry for cemented rock filling (CRF) operations.
- Prepare and maintain records for construction materials.
Requirements
Candidates for this fly-in/fly-out underground utility mining role should have mining equipment experience, relevant mineral extraction training, and the ability to support both construction and production work underground.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience operating MacLean scissor lifts.
- Experience operating jackleg, stoper, and shotcrete machine.
- NAC Certification or DEP in Mineral Extraction, or equivalent.
- Mining Modules or Common Core is considered an asset.
- Valid approval letter under the explosives regulations or equivalent, such as an explosive permit.
- Ability to work in English, the official working language at Meliadine.
- Asset: experience on scoop, zoom boom, boom truck, and 30-ton truck (Cat AD30).
