Agnico Eagle Mines is hiring an Underground Trainer for its Meliadine Mine near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. This full-time, salaried role is on a 14/14 fly-in/fly-out rotation with accommodations and meals provided on-site, and charter flights departing from various Canadian locations. Reporting to the Supervisor - Training, the Trainer will play a key role within the Health & Safety Department, delivering safety and equipment training programs, overseeing evaluations, and developing content aligned with underground mining procedures and company standards. The Trainer will also be responsible for managing the trainee programs and ensuring accurate record-keeping across training platforms.

Responsibilities

The Underground Trainer will deliver comprehensive safety and operational training to mine employees, support evaluations, and manage trainee development.

  • Participate in daily training meetings
  • Deliver Health & Safety, equipment, and process training
  • Coordinate and evaluate employee training with relevant departments
  • Oversee underground operator assessments and promotions
  • Develop and verify training content
  • Ensure training aligns with company procedures and standards
  • Maintain and update records using training platforms
  • Manage Meliadine's trainee programs
  • Document and share shift updates

Requirements

Applicants should bring extensive underground mining experience and the ability to deliver structured, safety-focused training in remote environments.

  • High School Diploma
  • 5-7 years of experience in underground mining
  • Experience as a Trainer or Instructor in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Strong understanding of underground mining equipment operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong English communication skills (official site language)
