SSR Mining Inc. is hiring Miners for the Seabee Gold Mine, a remote underground gold mining operation in northern Saskatchewan. This full-time underground mining position follows a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotational schedule with 12-hour workdays and the possibility of occasional unscheduled overtime. The Miner reports to the Supervisor, Mine Operations and performs a broad range of underground production, development, ground support, ventilation, service installation, drilling, blasting, and mobile equipment duties. Work includes operating 2-boom and 1-boom jumbos, mechanized bolters and scoops, installing ground support with jacklegs and stopers, loading and blasting development rounds, maintaining pumps, installing fans and ventilation systems, and installing air and water piping. The position is based at a remote location, with fly-in/fly-out transportation provided on designated travel days from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.

The Seabee Gold Mine Miner supports underground mine development and production activities through safe operation of drilling, bolting, blasting, material handling, and service installation equipment. The role combines underground mining experience with hands-on construction, ground support, ventilation, and mine infrastructure work.
- Operate two-boom and one-boom underground jumbo drills for mine development activities.
- Operate mechanized bolters used to install underground ground support.
- Install ground support using jacklegs and stopers.
- Load and blast underground development rounds in accordance with mine procedures and safety requirements.
- Install underground mine services required to support ongoing operations.
- Operate underground scoops for material handling, mucking, and related mine activities.
- Perform general pump maintenance throughout underground work areas.
- Install fans and underground ventilation systems.
- Install air and water piping to support underground mining operations.
- Complete underground construction and operational tasks as directed by Mine Operations supervision.
- Follow established underground mine safety procedures during drilling, blasting, equipment operation, ground support, and service installation activities.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the department.
Requirements
The Miner position requires substantial underground mining experience, a strong safety focus, and the ability to work effectively in a remote underground environment. Candidates should have practical experience with underground mine operations and construction activities and must be able to work a rotational schedule with long shifts.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an underground environment.
- Underground construction experience preferred.
- Experience with underground mining activities such as jumbo drilling, mechanized bolting, ground support installation, blasting, scoop operation, or mine service installation relevant to the role.
- Strong work ethic and ability to complete physically demanding underground mining duties.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace and underground mine safety.
- Positive and proactive attitude toward safe work practices.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and underground mining crews.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule.
