Responsibilities

The Supervisor Training role leads training program development, coordination, delivery, and team management to enhance workforce competency and safety culture.

  • Analyze, coordinate, and deliver effective training programs aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Identify training needs and implement methods to close gaps.
  • Provide hands-on support for training rollouts and assist trainers and subject matter experts.
  • Remove barriers and escalate issues impacting training success.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence and achieve project goals.
  • Prepare reports and present training status and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop training materials, tests, and company-wide standards ensuring compliance.
  • Align training priorities with site needs alongside supervisors, safety officers, and HR.
  • Set performance targets and monitor function/team results.
  • Lead and mentor training team members, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Build team capabilities to meet financial and operational strategies, including hiring and corrective actions.

Requirements

Applicants should have proven training and management experience with excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • "Train the Trainer" certification.
  • Certificate/diploma in mining, trades, education, safety, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years industry experience with training or safety exposure.
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to learn quickly and strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills.
  • Bilingual in English & French.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid driver's license.

Côté Gold Mine

Côté Gold Mine is a state-of-the-art open-pit gold mining operation located near Gogama in northeastern Ontario, Canada. Jointly owned by IAMGOLD Corporation (60.3%) and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (39.7%), the mine achieved its first gold pour and commenced commercial production in 2024 . With an anticipated mine life of approximately 18 years, Côté Gold is poised to become one of Canada's largest gold producers. The mine boasts proven and probable reserves of 234.6 million tonnes grading 1.01 g/t gold, containing 7.6 million ounces of gold. Including the adjacent Gosselin deposit, the combined measured and indicated resources total 16.5 million ounces, with an additional 4.2 million ounces in inferred resources. Côté Gold is notable for its adoption of advanced technologies, including autonomous haul trucks and drills, enhancing operational efficiency and safety . The project is situated on Treaty 9 territory, encompassing the traditional lands of the Mattagami First Nation and Flying Post First Nation, and within the traditional harvesting area of the Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.
