SSR Mining Inc. is hiring a Mine Technician (Surveyor) for its Seabee Gold Operation, located approximately 500km northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This underground gold mine operates in a remote boreal forest setting and offers a fly-in/fly-out schedule with pickup points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge. The successful candidate will support mine engineering functions such as surveying, planning, ventilation, and ground control while maintaining a strong safety culture. Camp accommodations and flights are provided for this rotational position.

Responsibilities

The Mine Technician (Surveyor) will support various mine engineering functions, ensuring accurate survey data and maintaining technical documentation.

  • Provide underground and surface surveying, including markups, pickups, borehole tracking, and stockpile scans.
  • Maintain and update production and development databases, mine drawings, and level plans.
  • Assist in stope reconciliation surveys and data analysis.
  • Support project planning for Operations and Technical teams.
  • Collaborate with geology and engineering teams on mineral lease documentation.
  • Conduct field-level geotechnical QA/QC testing and instrumentation installation.
  • Ensure compliance with mine survey and design standards.
  • Contribute to safety initiatives and adherence to SHEMS systems.
  • Work on capital equipment appropriation documentation.
  • Maintain security screening documentation as per regulatory requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience in underground mine surveying, and a commitment to safety.

  • Certificate or Diploma of Technology in Mine Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in underground mine surveying.
  • Membership with SASTT (or similar governing body) as A.Sc.T. or C.Tech is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Deswik, Leica Captivate, AutoCad, Mine Markup/MineCAD, Carlson Boretrak, and Teledyne Optech is an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with professionalism.
  • Security screening document as required by The Mines Regulations, 2018.

Accessible year-round by a 1,275-meter airstrip and via a winter ice road during colder months, the site ensures efficient transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
