Mine Planner - Meliadine Gold Mine - FIFO 14 Days with Camp
Agnico Eagle Mines is seeking a Planner - Open Pit to join the Engineering Department at its Meliadine Mine near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. This fly-in/fly-out position operates on a 14/14 rotation and includes full camp accommodations and charter flights from several locations including the Kivalliq region, Mirabel, and Val-d'Or. Reporting to the Supervisor - Engineering, the Planner will support production optimization and coordinate planning activities between Engineering, Geology, and Mine Operations. Responsibilities include weekly to yearly mine planning, pit design, field compliance inspections, and waste facility oversight. This role is essential for maintaining productivity and safety at one of Agnico Eagle's leading Arctic open pit operations.

The Open Pit Planner will support mine operations by developing and executing production plans, ensuring pit compliance, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
- Develop weekly, 3-month, and annual mine plans
- Design open pits according to plan and operational goals
- Manage and analyze open pit performance database
- Maintain and update mine and milling plans
- Conduct field inspections for plan compliance
- Oversee waste rock facility development
- Participate and lead monthly H&S meetings
- Review and approve drilling and blasting plans when needed
Requirements
Ideal candidates will bring strong mine planning experience and technical knowledge in open pit operations, preferably in remote or northern settings.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mining engineering roles
- Experience in open pit mine planning required
- Member of a Canadian engineering association or eligible for NAPEG
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to health and safety
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
