Mine Equipment Operator - Côté Gold Mine - Ontario Mining

The Mine Equipment Operator supports production and pit service operations at Côté Gold Mine by safely operating, inspecting, and performing basic maintenance on heavy mining equipment. The role helps execute the integrated mine plan, maintain site infrastructure, maximize equipment availability, and support safe and efficient production.

• Safely operate assigned production, haulage, and pit service equipment in accordance with IAMGOLD health, safety, and operating standards.
• Operate qualified mining equipment that may include:
  
  • 6060 production face shovels
  • 994K and 995 production wheel loaders
  • Non-production excavators including 6015, 395, 352, and 349 models
  • Smaller wheel loaders including 990, 988, and 980 models
  • D10 track dozers and rubber-tire dozers
  • 18M graders
  • Rubber-tire backhoes
  • 740 and 777 haulage trucks
  • 777 water trucks
  • Sleipner equipment
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, safety checks, equipment cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Position, load, and operate heavy equipment safely while maintaining clean and hazard-free working areas.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment faults, operating risks, deficiencies, and inefficiencies.
• Use and support MineStar high-precision GPS technology to optimize haulage and drilling performance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other operators to resolve operational issues and meet shift production targets.
• Maintain accurate equipment records, shift logs, and operating documentation.
• Communicate equipment deficiencies and required follow-up work promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, operational goals, and sustainability objectives.
• Develop equipment operating skills and provide mentoring or support to team members when required.

Candidates for the IAMGOLD Mine Equipment Operator role should have foundational heavy equipment operating experience, a valid driver's licence, and the ability to work safely within a large-scale open-pit mining environment. Training and maintenance experience are considered assets, while qualified operators on the listed production and pit service equipment are specifically being sought.

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of heavy equipment operating experience.
