SSR Mining Inc. is hiring a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic for its Seabee Gold Operation, located approximately 500km northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This underground gold mining facility offers a fly-in, fly-out work arrangement with camp accommodations. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for providing mechanical support for underground and surface mining equipment, including repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The role requires interpreting work orders, overhauling equipment, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and performance standards. The work schedule follows a two-week-on, two-week-off rotation with flights provided from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.

Responsibilities
The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mining equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Repair and maintain underground and surface mining equipment.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
- Overhaul, service, and recondition heavy-duty mining machinery.
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions.
- Determine the extent of repairs and perform necessary adjustments or part replacements.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
- Provide direction and training to junior mechanics and other departments as required.
- Assist in forecasting parts and maintenance planning.
- Make recommendations for improving maintenance processes and repair efficiency.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Interprovincial Heavy Duty trade certification (Technical mechanical diploma considered).
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working on heavy-duty equipment.
- Experience with Alimak equipment is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team and react to urgent operational needs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
