Automotive Mechanic - Seabee Gold Mine - 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off - FIFO

SSR Mining is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic to join the maintenance team at the Seabee Gold Operation, located approximately 500 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This fly-in/fly-out position works a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation, with travel provided from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge. Camp accommodations are included. The role involves the maintenance and repair of light-duty vehicles and equipment across both surface and underground operations at Saskatchewan's only producing gold mine.

Responsibilities

The Journeyperson Mechanic provides mechanical support for light-duty equipment across surface and underground mine operations.

  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment safely and cost-effectively
  • Diagnose faults and determine extent of repairs
  • Adjust, replace parts, and test repaired systems
  • Interpret technical manuals and work orders
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform preventative maintenance
  • Train junior mechanics and assist other departments
  • Forecast parts and suggest repair improvements

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Automotive Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years of automotive mechanic experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Physically and mentally fit for underground work
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities

The Seabee Gold Mine, located northeast of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, is an underground mining operation owned by SSR Mining Inc. Operating since 1991, it is Saskatchewans only active gold mine, producing high-grade ore processed on-site at the Seabee mill. Accessible year-round by a 1,275-meter airstrip and via a winter ice road during colder months, the site ensures efficient transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies. With proven and probable reserves of 343,000 ounces at an average grade of 5.17 grams per tonne, the mine continues to be a significant contributor to the provinces mining sector.
