Heavy Equipment Technician - Côté Gold Mine - Rotational Work Schedule
IAMGOLD is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician for its Côté Gold Mine near Gogama, Ontario. This open-pit mining operation, developed in partnership with local Indigenous communities and Sumitomo Metal Mining, requires skilled tradespeople to support mobile equipment reliability across mine and milling operations. The technician will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment while contributing to safety, operational excellence, and team collaboration. Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile heavy equipment across mining and milling operations.
- Diagnose equipment faults using computerized tools and other testing systems.
- Replace or repair parts and systems using hand/power tools.
- Test and ensure repaired equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and attachment servicing.
- Operate and maintain equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Identify issues, report inefficiencies, and troubleshoot collaboratively.
- Maintain detailed logs and participate in shift planning and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor new technicians and support site-wide maintenance goals.
Requirements
Applicants must have strong mechanical knowledge and certification in heavy equipment maintenance.
- College diploma in heavy equipment or related field.
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification preferred; completed apprenticeship required.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience; open-pit mining experience an asset.
- Knowledge of CAT systems (SIS, ET, HIS) and MineStar is an asset.
- Proficiency with maintenance software and computer applications.
- Valid Ontario driver's license.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Côté Gold Mine is a state-of-the-art open-pit gold mining operation located near Gogama in northeastern Ontario, Canada.
