Heavy Duty Mechanic - Suncor Base Plant - 14 On / 14 Off Day Shift 12 Hour Days - FIFO
Bouchier, a trusted Indigenous-owned service provider headquartered in Fort McKay, Alberta, is hiring a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off Road) for the Suncor Base Mine. The position follows a 14/14 rotation on day shift, with LOA, accommodations, and flights provided depending on the role and location. Responsibilities
The mechanic will perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on various heavy and off-road equipment at Suncor Base Mine.
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment (dozers, loaders, rock trucks, plow trucks, etc.)
- Read schematics and use diagnostic tools
- Perform maintenance to manufacturer specs
- Train and mentor apprentices
- Welding and cutting tasks (asset)
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations
- Lift parts and tools over 50 lbs
- Operate hoists and lifting equipment safely
Requirements
Applicants must hold a recognized Red Seal certificate and meet physical and safety standards.
- Journeyperson Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician or Alberta Journeyperson
- Off-Road certification required
- CVIP/on-highway certification an asset
- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- CSTS and OSSA/BSO or CSO
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and leadership skills
- English fluency (spoken, written, read)
- Physically fit; able to lift 50 lbs or more
