Responsibilities
The Geotechnician supports exploration programs by performing core sampling, geotechnical measurements, safety checks, and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in daily safety and work assignment meetings.
- Conduct equipment and vehicle safety checks.
- Assist with Job Hazard Analysis and Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Cut drill core samples using wet saws and collect samples per protocol.
- Maintain chain-of-custody and sample security.
- Perform drill core geotechnical measurements with accurate record keeping.
- Maintain and report on core shack equipment condition.
- Assist with field geological programs including outcrop sampling, power washing, and channel sawing.
- Follow all camp rules and promote respectful, inclusive living environment.
Requirements
Applicants should have exploration experience, safety focus, and teamwork skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's license.
- Training provided for exploration forklift/bobcat operation.
- Strong safety commitment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and focus.
- Preferred: experience in mineral exploration.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.

Côté Gold Mine
Côté Gold Mine is a state-of-the-art open-pit gold mining operation located near Gogama in northeastern Ontario, Canada. Jointly owned by IAMGOLD Corporation (60.3%) and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (39.7%), the mine achieved its first gold pour and commenced commercial production in 2024 .
