Geologist - Seabee Gold Mine - Fly In/Out - Two Week Rotations

SSR Mining Inc. is hiring a Senior Resource Geologist for its Seabee Gold Operation, located approximately 500km northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This underground gold mining facility offers a fly-in, fly-out work arrangement with camp accommodations. The Senior Resource Geologist will be responsible for developing and auditing resource models, geological interpretation, statistical analysis, and resource estimation for the Seabee Mine and advanced projects. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance orebody knowledge, optimize resource models, and ensure compliance with industry best practices. The work schedule follows a two-week-on, two-week-off rotation with flights provided from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.

Responsibilities

The Senior Resource Geologist will oversee resource modeling and estimation processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Improve orebody knowledge through geological interpretation and statistical analysis.
  • Maintain and update resource and short-term models.
  • Review resource confidence and complete mineable stope optimization (MSO).
  • Develop 3D geological models to facilitate accurate mineral resource estimates.
  • Collaborate with exploration, production geology, and grade control teams.
  • Optimize exploration drill programs to meet industry classification standards.
  • Analyze model-mine reconciliation results to drive improvements.
  • Contribute to external reporting (e.g., NI 43-101 and SK1300 technical reports).
  • Review stope designs and collaborate with engineers for improved reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly reports and presentations.
  • Mentor junior geologists.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Geology, with specialization in geostatistics preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in underground mining (gold or polymetallic exploration).
  • Experience in geological modeling, mineral resource estimation, and resource reporting.
  • Knowledge of SEC/CIM Best Practice Guidelines for sampling, QAQC, and database management.
  • Proficiency in geological modeling and database software (Leapfrog preferred).
  • Familiarity with underground mining methods, scheduling, and reconciliation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
