Responsibilities

The Labourer supports daily operations at remote North Warning System sites across the Arctic, assisting with material handling, maintenance support, housekeeping, and general site services.

  • Load, unload, move, and handle cargo, materials, equipment, supplies, and site inventory for daily site operations.
  • Perform general labour duties that support facility maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, and operational readiness.
  • Assist skilled trades personnel with maintenance, repair, construction, and other operational tasks as required.
  • Carry out snow clearing, shoveling, and grounds maintenance to maintain safe access to buildings, roads, and work areas.
  • Support housekeeping duties and maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments in remote camp settings.
  • Complete painting, light maintenance, and basic repair tasks to help preserve facilities and equipment.
  • Fuel vehicles and equipment according to site procedures and environmental requirements.
  • Receive, process, distribute, and transport deliveries, materials, supplies, and equipment across site locations.
  • Assist with logistics, inventory movement, and general operational support activities as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures, environmental standards, and operational requirements while working in remote Arctic conditions.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties required for site operations and mission readiness.

Requirements

Qualified candidates for this Arctic labourer job should be prepared for physically demanding work in remote northern environments and meet the following credentials, experience, and skill requirements.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Valid driver's licence is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability Security Clearance is required.
  • Employment is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining an Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance or Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Previous labour, warehouse, logistics, construction, maintenance, customer service, or related experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience in industrial, construction, camp, mining, municipal, aviation, or remote-site environments is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
