Facilities Maintenance Technician - North Warning System - FIFO Full Time Work

Nasittuq Corporation is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician/Trainer for its North Warning System Support Centre (NWSSC) based in North Bay, Ontario. This full-time permanent position supports the operation and technical training of critical building systems-including HVAC, power generation, water/sewage, and fire suppression-across 47 remote radar sites in Northern Canada. The FMT/Trainer will work closely with northern field crews and internal teams to provide remote support and deliver training workshops. Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Technician/Trainer supports the operation of building systems and leads the delivery of technical training for field and HQ-based personnel maintaining the North Warning System.

  • Maintain NWS facility systems: power generation, HVAC, electrical distribution, fire alarms, water and sewage
  • Provide remote technical support to technicians across northern radar sites
  • Develop training content and update technical course materials per contract requirements
  • Prepare and deliver group or individual training sessions (in person, webinar, or workshop format)
  • Analyze system failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Review and interpret system drawings, schematics, and manuals

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have hands-on technical experience with building systems, strong communication skills, and a passion for mentoring others through technical training.

  • Postsecondary program in electromechanical systems or equivalent military training
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in commercial or industrial settings
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials (asset)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and building structural systems
  • Proficient with commercial testing and diagnostic tools
  • Able to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Eligible for Secret security clearance
