The remote site is approximately 500km northeast of Saskatoon and offers a fly-in fly-out schedule with camp accommodations. This role requires operating and inspecting surface heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, graders, backhoes, excavators, dozers, and 40-ton haul trucks. Working on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation with 12-hour shifts, the position supports safe, efficient operations at the only gold producing facility in Saskatchewan. The Operator 4 is responsible for skilled operation and inspection of surface mining equipment, ensuring safety and equipment readiness. Key duties include:
- Operate heavy equipment including wheel loaders, graders, backhoes, excavators, dozers/crawlers, and 40-ton haul trucks.
- Perform quality work as directed by Supervisor.
- Attend daily safety meetings and adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working order, documenting conditions before shifts.
- Monitor systems continuously during operation and report defects or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to promote safety and operational efficiency.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 5 years proven heavy equipment operation experience.
- At least 2 years mining industry experience.
- Positive and proactive attitude toward safety and teamwork.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
