Responsibilities

Technicians will maintain and support electronic systems at radar installations in remote Arctic locations:

  • Maintain radar, satellite communication, and electronic test systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic components and systems
  • Perform retrofit installations on RF/IF and satellite communication equipment
  • Execute compliance verification procedures
  • Update documentation and manage system audit records
  • Coordinate activities with LSS and NWS Command Centre
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and equipment readiness
  • Deploy to other radar sites as required
  • Follow safety standards and contribute to site operations

Requirements

Candidates must hold relevant technical credentials and be suited for remote, Arctic work:

  • Electronics Technician Diploma or equivalent Canadian military certification
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining electronic systems in the field
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, RF meters)
  • Experience with satellite/data communication and video systems
  • Strong computer literacy including MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in cold, remote conditions using required PPE
  • Prepared to travel to all radar sites as needed
  • Commitment to cross-cultural workplace environments
