Autonomous Hardware And Radio Technician - Côté Gold Mine
IAMGOLD is hiring an Autonomous Hardware and Radio Technician for the Côté Gold Mine, located near Gogama, Ontario. This open-pit gold mining operation, developed in partnership with Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation, and Métis Nation of Ontario Region 3, is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. The technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of autonomous systems and radio communications used in haulage and drilling operations. The technician supports critical mining technology systems and wireless infrastructure for autonomous equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair wired/wireless systems for haul and drill fleets.
- Configure VHF/UHF communications, Fleet Management Systems, and Wi-Fi mesh networks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Support mining data systems and maintain parts inventory.
- Identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot, and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with operators and technical teams to ensure reliable operations.
- Maintain accurate logs and mentor new team members.
Requirements
Candidates must have strong technical knowledge of radio systems and autonomous equipment technologies.
- Grade 12 diploma; post-secondary education in electrical or automation fields an asset.
- 5+ years in electrical or communications infrastructure roles.
- Experience with FMS, autonomous systems, Cisco Wi-Fi, LTE, and machine guidance systems preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and in team environments.

Côté Gold Mine
Côté Gold Mine is a state-of-the-art open-pit gold mining operation located near Gogama in northeastern Ontario, Canada.
