Available Positions

Following remote camp jobs in British Columbia are currently available with LandSea Camp Services.

1st Cooks

The 1st Cook is responsible for planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. As a 1st Cook, you will estimate food requirements and labor costs, prepare and cook meals, including specialty foods for customers with specific dietary needs. Additionally, you will instruct 2nd Cooks and kitchen helpers in food preparation, garnishing, and presentation techniques, while ensuring food quality and portion control. The role also involves creating new recipes, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies and equipment, scheduling daily duties, and supervising kitchen staff.

2nd Cooks

The 2nd Cook position assists the 1st Cook in preparing all meals and ensures the camp kitchen, dining, and living areas are clean and sanitary at all times. This role requires the ability to follow directions diligently, stay focused, and work consistently. Comfort with kitchen equipment and knife skills are essential for success in this position.

3rd Cooks and General Helpers

The 3rd Cooks and General Helpers assist in meal preparation and ensuring the camp kitchen, dining, and living areas are clean and sanitary. Diligence, focus, and consistency are key attributes required for this role. Comfort with kitchen equipment and knife skills are essential.

Chefs

As the Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. This includes estimating food requirements and labor costs, preparing and cooking meals, including specialty dishes for customers with specific dietary needs. As the Chef, you will also instruct 1st Cooks, 2nd Cooks, and kitchen helpers in food preparation, garnishing, and presentation techniques. Ensuring food quality and portion control, creating new recipes, and supervising kitchen staff are important responsibilities of this position.

Clerks and Housekeepers

The Clerks and Housekeeper oversees the general camp cleanliness and manages all service staff on a daily basis. This role requires maintaining open communication and working collaboratively with the management team and client representatives to deliver exceptional service. Utilizing camp management software to manage occupancy and updating head office and client representatives are also part of the responsibilities.

Janitors

As a remote camp janitor, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall camp cleanliness and sanitation, ensuring a clean and safe environment for camp residents.

Breakfast Cook

The Breakfast Cook position at LandSea Camp Services is responsible for preparing breakfast service items as outlined in a predetermined menu plan. This role requires working fast yet diligently, with a focus on consistency, while being open to direction.

Housekeeping Attendant

Housekeeping Attendants at LandSea Camp Services play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the living areas at our remote camp. This position requires a keen eye for detail and dedication to creating a comfortable and hygienic environment for camp residents.

Working in remote camps with LandSea means living on-site, with meals and accommodation provided, during scheduled shifts. Staff then enjoy scheduled breaks away from camp. The typical shift schedule can vary from camp to camp, but generally, it consists of 20 days on schedule at camp followed by 10 days off schedule.

Most of LandSea’s camps offer individual staff accommodation with ensuite or shared bathroom facilities, along with full meals, Wi-Fi access, and some even boast health and gym facilities for staff. The company provides partial uniforms and extends assistance with travel and reservations to and from camp locations as needed.

Team members at LandSea often work long hours and consecutive days, with typical workdays ranging from 10 to 12 hours, including day and night shifts, which may involve overtime rates. After three months of service, Health and Wellness benefits become available to eligible employees.
