The Yellowhead Power Station, located near North Battleford, Saskatchewan, is a natural gas-fired facility owned by SaskPower, generating 135 MW of electricity through three simple cycle gas turbines. Commissioned in 2010, it features remote operation capabilities via SaskPower's Grid Control Centre. An expansion project, underway since 2023, will add a fourth turbine with a 46 MW capacity by 2025, enhancing baseload power availability and supporting renewable energy integration. The Yellowhead Power Station is a key component of Saskatchewans energy infrastructure, ensuring reliable electricity while contributing to the province's transition toward a sustainable energy mix.
