Suncor MacKay River
Join one of Alberta's largest oil sands sites with roles in operations, maintenance, and energy infrastructure at MacKay River.

Utilizing steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology for bitumen extraction.
Located approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Fort McMurray, Alberta, the MacKay River facility is Suncor Energy's first in situ oil sands operation. Utilizing Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) technology, the facility was initially designed to produce 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) of bitumen. Through the integration of advanced technologies, production capacity has been expanded to 38,000 bpd. The extracted bitumen is transported via pipeline to Suncor's Base Plant for further processing or blending.
