Site C Clean Energy Project is a hydropower facility built on the Peace River in BC

The Site C Clean Energy Project is a significant hydroelectric development on the Peace River in northeastern British Columbia. Once completed, it will be the third dam and generating station on the river, providing 1,100 megawatts of capacity and producing about 5,100 gigawatt-hours of electricity annuallyenough to power approximately 450,000 homes per year. Construction began in 2015, and as of November 2024, the project is nearing completion, with the first power generation expected in early 2025. The Site C project aims to provide clean, reliable, and affordable electricity for more than 100 years, supporting British Columbia's growing energy needs and contributing to the province's renewable energy portfolio.
