Enhancing transportation infrastructure in British Columbia.
The Peace River Bridge, located in Peace River, Alberta, has undergone significant developments to enhance transportation infrastructure in the region. In 2017, a joint venture between Flatiron Construction and Aecon was awarded the contract to construct a new bridge structure and twin Highway 2 through the town. The new three-lane bridge opened to traffic in November 2020, improving critical connections and supporting over 400 jobs during its construction. Subsequent rehabilitation work on the old arch bridge has faced delays, with completion now expected in fall 2025.
