Connecting British Columbia's gas supply to LNG export terminal near Kitimat.

The Coastal GasLink Pipeline is a 670-kilometer natural gas pipeline traversing British Columbia, Canada. It connects the natural gas fields near Dawson Creek to the LNG Canada export facility in Kitimat. The pipeline is designed to transport 2.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, with the potential to increase capacity to 5 billion cubic feet per day through additional compression facilities. Construction began in 2019, and as of October 2023, pipeline installation was 100% complete. The project has involved extensive collaboration with Indigenous communities, with agreements in place with all 20 elected First Nations along the route. The pipeline is expected to play a significant role in delivering Canadian natural gas to global markets, providing a lower-emission energy option to offset coal-fired energy generation.
