Confederation Line Extension
The Confederation Line extension project involves designing, constructing, and financing 27.5 kilometers of infrastructure for Ottawa’s light-rail transit (LRT) system. This expansion aims to extend the existing Confederation Line west and east, enhancing the city’s public transportation network. The project includes the construction of 4 kilometers of rail in cut-and-cover tunnels, 20 engineering structures, 16 stations (including one underground and one elevated station), and a maintenance center. It also encompasses the delivery of associated systems.
The project’s uniqueness lies in its connection to an existing line, with established systems from the first stage being extended using the same equipment.
