Responsibilities

The Water Technician will ensure safe and efficient desalination and water treatment processes on site:

  • Operate and monitor reverse osmosis (RO) and other desalination systems
  • Conduct water sampling and quality testing per regulatory standards
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control components
  • Record operations, maintenance, and water quality data accurately
  • Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and installations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety protocols
  • Respond to system breakdowns and manage shutdown/start-up processes
  • Collaborate with environmental, maintenance, and site operations teams

Requirements

Qualified candidates must demonstrate experience in water treatment systems, especially in remote environments:

  • 5 years' experience operating desalination or industrial water treatment systems
  • Technical diploma or certificate in Water Treatment, Environmental Technology, or similar field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with SCADA/PLC-controlled systems
