The Waste Oil Heater Technician will manage installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating systems:
- Install, test, and commission waste oil heaters and related components
- Inspect and repair systems including combustion chambers, pumps, and heat exchangers
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Monitor performance and adjust systems for optimal fuel usage
- Collect, filter, and handle waste oil per environmental standards
- Manage inventory of parts and order supplies as needed
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and oil usage
- Follow all environmental and health & safety regulations
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and escalate issues to supervisors
Requirements
Ideal candidates will bring technical expertise and remote site readiness to this Arctic-based role:
- Minimum 3 years' experience with waste oil heaters
- Experience in remote or Arctic conditions preferred
- Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, Millwright, Oil Burner Technician) preferred
- Leak testing and gas detection certification or equivalent
