Responsibilities

The Waste Management Operator will manage incineration operations and support waste handling systems on-site:

  • Operate and monitor incinerators for domestic, food, and non-hazardous industrial waste
  • Collect and segregate recyclable and combustible waste for proper disposal
  • Ensure compliance with territorial and federal environmental regulations
  • Conduct inspections and perform routine maintenance on incineration equipment
  • Track and record waste processing data including temperatures and volumes
  • Sort waste and ensure no hazardous materials are incinerated
  • Safely load waste, remove ash, and dispose of ash as per protocols
  • Report equipment issues or safety/environmental concerns to the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and organized waste management area

Requirements

Qualified candidates should meet the following criteria for safe and effective waste management operations in a remote environment:

  • Minimum 1 year of skilled labour experience in a remote camp setting
  • Previous experience at a mine site preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in functional English
