Utility Equipment Operator - Horizon Oil Sands - 7 On / 7 Off 12 Hour Days - FIFO
Bouchier, a leading Indigenous-owned integrated services provider headquartered in Fort McKay, Alberta, is seeking a full-time Utility Equipment Operator to support its roads and grounds projects across multiple oil sands sites including CNRL Horizon, CNUL Albian, Suncor, and IOL Kearl. This position runs on a 7/7 rotation and includes camp and flight options depending on location.

Responsibilities
Operators will safely manage heavy equipment to support roads, grounds, and special projects across multiple oil sands sites.
- Operate dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, and rock trucks
- Follow equipment safety and maintenance procedures
- Conduct inspections and report issues
- Participate in safety meetings and risk assessments
- Adapt to labor tasks as needed
- Collaborate with crew and leadership to meet project goals
- Embrace safety and continuous improvement
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Candidates must meet equipment operation experience, licensing, and safety certification standards.
- 2-5 years heavy equipment experience
- Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License
- Clean 5-year abstract (personal & commercial)
- CSTS09, OSSA, BSO, or CSO certification
- Physically fit; able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be clean shaven and able to pass drug/alcohol and fitness tests
- Fluent in English and eligible to work in Canada
- Assets: WHMIS 2015, TDG, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, H2S Alive, Confined Space

Horizon Oil Sands Project
The Horizon Oil Sands Project, located approximately 70 kilometers north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada, is a significant oil sands mining and upgrading operation owned and operated by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). The project encompasses surface mining of bitumen, extraction, and on-site upgrading to produce high-quality synthetic crude oil (SCO). Since its inception, Horizon has undergone several expansions to enhance production capacity and operational efficiency. As of 2024, the mine produces approximately 250,000 barrels per day of SCO, with plans to increase capacity by an additional 195,000 barrels per day. The project is a key contributor to Albertas energy sector and plays an important role in Canadas oil production.
