Agnico Eagle Mines is seeking a General Supervisor - Underground Mine for its Hope Bay Project located in Nunavut's Kitikmeot Region. Operating on a 21/21 fly-in/fly-out rotation with camp accommodations and charter flights from Edmonton and Yellowknife, this full-time, salaried role provides strategic oversight of mine development, production, and underground construction. Reporting to the Manager - Mining, the General Supervisor will lead mine operations with a strong focus on safety, productivity, cost control, and team performance. The role is integral to preparing and implementing the operational readiness plan, analyzing key performance data, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration for efficient mine execution and ramp-up to full production.

The Underground Mine Supervisor leads and directs mining operations to ensure safe, productive, and cost-effective outcomes at the Hope Bay Project.
- Lead underground mine development, production, and construction
- Plan and coordinate daily operations and safety procedures
- Track KPIs for cost, health and safety, and productivity
- Oversee employee performance and development
- Manage budgets and cost control for operations

Requirements
Candidates must possess senior-level mining experience and demonstrate a strong ability to manage underground teams and operations in remote locations.
- College diploma in Mineral Technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience with supervisory responsibilities
- Eligible for Level 2 Supervisor Certification and First Aid Certificate
- Strong understanding of underground mining practices and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with tech innovation and automation in mining is a plus

The Hope Bay Gold Project is a high-potential exploration and development initiative owned by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, located in the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut, Canada. Spanning approximately 80 kilometers of the Hope Bay greenstone belt, the project includes multiple gold deposits, with primary activity focused on the Madrid, Boston, and Doris zones. Agnico Eagle acquired the project in early 2021 and has since shifted its strategy toward advancing exploration, geological understanding, and long-term development planning. The Hope Bay site currently supports significant drilling activity and geotechnical work, aiming to expand the gold resource base and optimize future production pathways.
