Construction Miner - Meadowbank Complex - 14x14 (FIFO) Mining

The Meadowbank Complex Construction Miner supports Agnico Eagle's underground Mine Department by completing construction, installation, rehabilitation, concrete, structural, and maintenance work throughout the mine. The role combines underground construction expertise with blueprint interpretation, material planning, equipment operation, and compliance with mine safety and building requirements.

• Construct, erect, install, maintain, and repair underground structures and fixtures made from wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, plastic, concrete, drywall, and other construction materials.
• Build tunnel bracing, brattices, underground passageways, bulkheads, and other structures required to support safe and efficient underground mining operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, sketches, mine engineering plans, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Calculate material quantities, measurements, dimensions, and other construction requirements before beginning assigned work.
• Build foundations and install floor beams, subflooring, walls, roof systems, bulkheads, and related structural components.
• Fit and install doors, stairs, molding, trim, hardware, and other finishing components where required.
• Build concrete forms according to drawings and specifications and support floor and structural concrete pouring activities.
• Strip wood and steel materials during underground rehabilitation and repair work.
• Operate underground construction and mining equipment including jacklegs, stopers, shotcrete machines, zoom booms, scissor lifts, and welding machines.
• Lead assigned underground construction projects and help ensure project goals, specifications, timelines, and safety objectives are achieved.
• Prepare construction cost estimates for materials, labour, or assigned projects as required.
• Prepare, update, and maintain records related to construction materials and project requirements.
• Complete work orders and document completed underground construction and maintenance activities.
• Work in compliance with applicable federal and territorial or provincial building codes, regulatory requirements, safety legislation, and Agnico Eagle procedures.
• Follow Agnico Eagle's Health & Safety Code of Conduct and environmental requirements throughout all underground construction activities.
• Maintain a safe work area and promote respectful, responsible, and environmentally conscious work practices within the Mine Department.

Candidates for the Agnico Eagle Construction Miner position at the Meadowbank Complex must have underground construction experience, industrial welding knowledge, mining-related training, and the ability to interpret engineering and construction plans. Several additional mining, welding, explosives, and trade certifications are considered assets for this fly-in/fly-out Nunavut mining role.

• High School Diploma.
• Proven underground construction experience.
• Experience working in an industrial welding environment.
• Working knowledge of technical manuals, schematics, and related welding or construction documentation.
• NAC Certification, DEP in Mineral Extraction, or an equivalent mining qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret mine engineering plans.
• Valid approval letter under applicable explosives regulations or an equivalent authorization, such as an explosives permit.
• WBC Certification considered an asset.
• Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certification considered an asset.
• High Pressure Certification considered an asset.
• Underground Certification or equivalent qualifications, including Mining Modules and Common Core, considered assets.
• Ability to safely operate underground construction and mining equipment relevant to assigned work.
• Ability to work within applicable building codes, mining regulations, safety requirements, and legislation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an underground Mine Department in a remote Nunavut operation.
• Available for a 14 days on / 14 days off rotational fly-in/fly-out schedule.
• Proficient in English, the official working language of the Meadowbank Complex.
