The position follows a 14 days on / 14 days off schedule, with camp accommodations and meals provided at no cost and charter flights to and from site, including travel expense coverage based on the employee’s Canadian point of residence. The worksite’s official operating language is English, and the role may require cross-training and certification across additional underground production and development equipment.

The Service Miner supports underground mine production at Agnico Eagle’s Meadowbank Complex by operating blasting and drilling-related equipment, maintaining safe work areas, and completing assigned production and development tasks to site standards.
- Operate Dynominer equipment and/or ANFO lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3) to support underground production activities.
- Follow Agnico Eagle Health & Safety and quality standards while meeting required production targets.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required checks before operating machinery.
- Inspect and secure the work area by scaling loose rock and assessing ground conditions.
- Drill blast holes according to drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Load and blast rounds in accordance with blasting procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Complete site rehabilitation tasks using correct ground support and bolt patterns.
- Assist with water, air, and ventilation service installations using tools and equipment such as scissor lifts, jacklegs, and stopers.
- Maintain personal and crew safety while performing underground tasks and coordinating with the mining team.
- Operate additional production-category equipment as required and pursue certification where assigned.
- Complete work orders and related documentation accurately and on time.
- Support production stope preparation when required.
- Operate development-category equipment as assigned (per career path requirements) and obtain related certifications as needed.
Requirements
Applicants for this FIFO underground Service Miner role must bring substantial hard rock mining experience, blasting-related qualifications, and the ability to follow mine plans and safety systems in a remote Nunavut operation.
- Minimum 2000 hours operating Dynominer equipment or ANFO lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3).
- Minimum 4000 hours in underground development work (e.g., face loading, pipe work, ventilation work, manual ground support, clean face activities).
- High School Diploma.
- Nunavut Arctic College (NAC) certification or diploma in mineral extraction, or equivalent.
- Underground hard rock mining modular training certificate (or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans and engineering drawings (Mining Engineering plan reading skills).
- Valid Approval Letter under the Explosives Regulations or equivalent (e.g., Explosives Permit, PAL, or Nexus Card).
- Ability to work in English (official working language at the Meadowbank Complex).
- Asset: certification on development-category equipment such as Loading Unit and Production Scoop (12 yd).
