The Underground Construction Miner I will lead and perform a wide range of underground construction activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the underground construction crew.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and offer guidance for safe and efficient execution.
- Operate underground mining equipment such as boom truck, scissor lift, shotcrete sprayer, transmixer, scooptram, telehandler, and underground light vehicles.
- Conduct thorough pre/post-operational inspections, reporting any deficiencies or damages.
- Perform underground construction tasks including wall and bulkhead construction, shotcrete application, concrete forming and pouring, backfill preparation, infrastructure and mine services installations, and general construction work.
- Recognize ground conditions and follow protocols for poor ground conditions.
- Accurately and promptly report shift details to the Shift Supervisor.
- Read and follow construction prints, providing feedback for planning improvements.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas to support safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Qualified candidates for the Underground Construction Miner I role must meet the following requirements:
- Seven years of construction mining experience with proven proficiency in key tasks.
- Trades certification (such as Welding or Carpentry) is favorable.
- Valid First Aid certificate and blasting ticket within a Canadian jurisdiction.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
