Responsibilities
The Underground Development Miner I will carry out underground mining activities safely and efficiently in accordance with site protocols:
- Interpret engineering layouts and conduct face preparation, scaling, bolting, and screening
- Operate underground mining equipment including jumbos, bolters, ANFO loaders, scooptrams, haul trucks, LVs, and scissor lifts
- Perform post-blast inspections and assess ground conditions
- Complete pre- and post-operational checks on equipment and report issues
- Execute tasks related to development mining such as mucking, hauling, drilling, blasting, and installing mine services
- Maintain underground housekeeping standards and assist offsiders
- Coach and mentor team members and contribute to a safety-first culture
Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate significant underground mining experience and technical ability:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in development mining
- Proficiency operating a variety of underground equipment; Sandvik equipment preferred
- Valid Canadian First Aid certification and blasting ticket
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and learning
