Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic - Hemlo Gold Mine - 14 Days On / 14 Days Off

Barminco Canada, a division of the Perenti Group, is hiring an experienced Underground Heavy-Duty Mechanic for its Hemlo operations near Marathon, Ontario. This role operates on a 14/14 schedule and is open to Canadian residents. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on CAT and Sandvik underground mobile equipment. Responsibilities

The Heavy-Duty Mechanic will service and maintain underground mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on underground CAT and Sandvik mobile equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.
  • Identify, document, and request required parts and materials.
  • Perform duties efficiently and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Work in alignment with team objectives and report to the Maintenance Foreman.

Requirements

Applicants must hold trade certifications and possess significant underground experience in equipment maintenance.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ontario Trades License (421A, 310T, or 310S) or Interprovincial Red Seal certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of underground mining mechanic experience.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural and fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge with others.
