The Underground Construction Miner II delivers safe, high-quality underground construction to support continuous production and infrastructure readiness.
- Read and follow construction prints; provide input to construction planning.
- Operate underground equipment per SOPs: jumbo, MacLean bolter, ANFO loader, scooptrams (6/8/10 yd), haul trucks (30 t/51 t), underground light vehicles, scissor lifts.
- Build underground structures such as walls, bulkheads, and escapeways; perform general construction to meet safety and quality standards.
- Perform concrete forming, pouring, and shotcrete for reinforcement, backfill preparation, and operational support.
- Install and maintain mine services, including tele-remote access points and critical infrastructure.
- Monitor and assess ground conditions; apply proper control measures and escalate hazards.
- Complete thorough pre- and post-operational equipment inspections; report defects promptly.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in all underground areas.
- Accurately report shift activities; coach and mentor other employees.
Requirements
Candidates bring proven underground construction mining experience, strong safety leadership, and the ability to operate multiple pieces of UG equipment in a remote FIFO setting.
- Minimum 5 years of construction mining experience with demonstrated proficiency.
- Ability to operate boom truck, shotcrete sprayer, transmixer, scissor lift, and scooptram.
- Trades certification (e.g., Welding, Carpentry) considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid certificate (required).
- Strong safety mindset with excellent communication and follow-through on supervisor instructions.

The Goose Gold Project is a high-grade gold mine development in Nunavut’s Back River District, currently under construction by B2Gold Corporation. Situated approximately 520 km northeast of Yellowknife, the Goose Project is designed as a fly-in/fly-out operation with a seasonal winter road for bulk supplies and a permanent airstrip for personnel transport.
