The role operates on a 14/14 rotation and offers full camp accommodations, private rooms, gym, and dining services. Responsibilities
This position ensures efficient, safe operation of heavy mining equipment. Duties include:
- Completing job risk assessments and safe work plans with the team.
- Conducting preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults in mobile mining equipment.
- Rebuilding components and consulting manufacturers when needed.
- Documenting maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
- Collaborating with supervisors, planners, and schedulers on task coordination.
- Following all safety, environmental, and operational protocols.
- Maintaining a mindset of continuous improvement and team communication.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Legally permitted to work in Canada.
- Valid Red Seal Journeyperson's Heavy Duty Mechanic or Technician Certification.
- 5-7 years of experience with Komatsu or other hydraulic shovel equipment.
- Training in Komatsu electrical/hydraulic systems and Cummins engines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with computerized maintenance systems (e.g., Komtrax, SAP).
- Familiarity with Pit Viper 271 is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental standards.
- Experience in remote mine sites and diverse work environments.
