Hecla Mining Company is seeking a Project Manager for its Keno Hill Mine in Elsa, Yukon Territory. This fly-in/fly-out position operates on a 14/14 rotational schedule and includes full camp accommodations and meals. The Project Manager will oversee mine site infrastructure projects from planning through completion, coordinating with internal departments and external contractors. The role requires strong leadership, PMP training or certification, and 10+ years of experience in mining project management. The Project Manager will lead infrastructure and facility development projects at the Keno Hill Mine site. Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and manage construction and infrastructure projects from start to finish
- Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Select personnel and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, cost, and timeline
- Oversee project safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Liaise with department managers for approvals and risk management
- Implement project management policies and procedures
- Evaluate outcomes and ensure project objectives are achieved
- Support environmental and safety cultures on site
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications and pre-employment conditions:
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related field
- P.Eng designation is an asset
- 10+ years of experience in the mining industry
- PMP training or certification required
- Strong knowledge of construction standards and project controls
- Experience in estimating, cost control, procurement, and project accounting
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract
- Pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram testing
