Hecla Mining
Hecla Mining Company is the largest silver producer in the United States and Canada, publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker HL and headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Founded in 1891, Hecla is one of the oldest precious-metals mining companies in North America, producing silver along with gold, zinc, and lead. The company operates the Greens Creek mine in Alaska, the Lucky Friday mine in Idaho, and the Keno Hill mine in Canada's Yukon, and is advancing exploration and development projects across established silver and gold districts in North America, including the Yukon, Nevada, and elsewhere. Its Canadian operation, Keno Hill, is a historic high-grade silver district in the Yukon that Hecla acquired in 2022 and has since brought back into production, operating as a remote northern mine. Hecla positions its North American silver output as a strategic domestic source of metals critical to electronics, solar, electric vehicles, and other clean-technology supply chains.
