The Underground Production Miner II supports tele-remote and conventional underground production by operating equipment, completing stope mucking and backfilling, and executing production tasks to engineering designs and safety standards.
- Operate tele-remote systems efficiently to muck stopes and draw points and complete backfilling tasks.
- Verify tele-remote scoops and systems function as designed, and ensure equipment is cleaned after each use and kept operational.
- Perform thorough pre- and post-operational equipment inspections and report deficiencies or damage to the Shift Supervisor.
- Read, interpret, and follow engineering prints, layouts, and production designs.
- Complete pre- and post-blast inspections to confirm safe conditions and readiness for production.
- Set up tele-remote systems, including access points, gates, and related controls.
- Perform underground production haulage in support of mining cycles and material movement.
- Conduct stope loading, timing, and blasting activities according to design specifications and site procedures.
- Support mine services installations as required to maintain production infrastructure.
- Provide accurate, timely end-of-shift reporting and communicate operational updates to the Shift Supervisor.
- Recognize changing ground conditions and follow site protocol when poor ground is encountered.
- Follow direction from Underground Supervisors and collaborate respectfully with supporting teams.
- Maintain clean, organized underground work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Successful candidates for this FIFO underground production mining role will bring multi-year experience, strong tele-remote competence, and safety certifications suitable for Canadian underground operations.
- Minimum 4 years of underground production mining experience with demonstrated proficiency in core production tasks.
- Experience with Sandvik AutoMine tele-remote systems, LHDs, and haul trucks (highly desirable).
- Production drilling experience (considered an asset).
- Valid First Aid certificate.
- Valid blasting ticket in a Canadian jurisdiction.
- Ability to follow mine plans, engineering prints, and layout drawings accurately.
- Ability to work safely and maintain organized work areas in an underground mine environment.
