Worksite/Project
Meadowbank Gold Mine
The Meadowbank Gold Mine, situated in the Kivalliq District of Nunavut, approximately 300 kilometers west of Hudson Bay, was Agnico Eagle's first Low Arctic mine. It achieved commercial production in 2010 and operated until 2019. The mine significantly contributed to the local economy, providing employment opportunities and supporting regional development. Post-2019, the Meadowbank Complex has been sustained by the Amaruq satellite deposit, which serves as a source of ore for the Meadowbank mill. This transition has extended the life of the operation, continuing its legacy in the region.
