Overhead Door Technician - Kearl Oil Sands - 14 On / 14 Off - FIFO

Bouchier, a leading Indigenous-owned provider of integrated site services based in Fort McKay, Alberta, is hiring a full-time Journeyman Overhead Door Technician for its IOL Kearl FM site. This 14/14 rotational role includes flights, accommodations, and benefits after three months. The technician will install, service, and maintain overhead doors and related systems.

Responsibilities

The technician will install, service, and repair various overhead door systems, ensuring operational safety and performance.

  • Complete risk assessments and field reports
  • Install and repair overhead sectional and coiling doors
  • Service electric motors, chains, gear boxes, and gate systems
  • Perform system walkdowns and commissioning tasks
  • Fit bearings, align shafts, and perform vibration analysis
  • Diagnose faults and communicate design issues
  • Assist in startup and commissioning with vendors
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Applicants must hold journeyman certification and have relevant industrial overhead door installation experience.

  • Alberta-certified Journeyman or related trade certificate
  • Minimum 5 years in overhead door installation and industrial environments
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean abstract
  • CSO certification required
  • Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding conditions
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent in English (spoken, written, and read)
