Responsibilities
The Miner 1 will operate jumbo drills and perform a range of tasks essential to underground development. Responsibilities include:
- Operate jumbo drills safely and efficiently for development drilling
- Prepare headings by scaling, inspecting, and installing ground support
- Drill, load, and blast in accordance with engineered plans
- Perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Complete daily shift reports and communicate progress
- Support full mining cycle including mucking, bolting, loading, etc.
- Mentor crew members and promote a strong safety culture
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications and safety standards:
- Minimum 3 years operating jumbo drills in underground hard rock mining
- Proficient in reading mine plans and drilling specifications
- Eligible for a Blasting Certificate
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean abstract
- Criminal record check and pre-employment testing required
- Mine Rescue Certification is an asset
- Strong communication and adherence to safety procedures
