The Millwright Artisan maintains and repairs mechanical equipment at the Gahcho Kué diamond mine site.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, tanks, compressors, conveyors, crushers, and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and identify equipment deficiencies.
- Provide timely response to critical equipment breakdowns.
- Complete daily reports and work orders.
- Assist with work scoping and planning.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ensure adherence to safety and security policies.
Requirements
Qualified millwright with relevant industry experience and skills.
- Valid Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright certification.
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar processing facilities.
- Knowledge of conveyor belts, crushers, vibrating screens, pumps, and plant mechanical equipment.
- Basic welding skills.
- Experience with condition monitoring systems.
- Proficient in MS Office and computerized maintenance systems (e.g., SAP).
- Commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Experience in remote mining sites and cross-cultural work environments.

Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine is one of Canada’s largest and richest diamond mines, located in the Northwest Territories approximately 280 km northeast of Yellowknife. Jointly owned by De Beers Canada (51%) and Mountain Province Diamonds (49%), the mine began commercial production in 2016 and is a vital contributor to Canada’s northern economy and global diamond supply. Operating as an open-pit kimberlite mine, Gahcho Kué produces around 4.5 million carats of rough diamonds annually, with total projected output exceeding 50 million carats by the end of its expected life in 2031. The mine processes roughly 3 million tonnes of ore per year, using cutting-edge sorting and recovery technologies.
