Barrick Gold Corporation is seeking a Temporary Mill Operator for its Hemlo Operations at the Williams Mine near Marathon, Ontario. This residential position operates on a 7/7 rotation and requires candidates to reside within commuting distance of the site, with a local travel allowance provided. The role reports to the Mill Supervisor and is responsible for supporting various functions within the processing plant, including equipment operation, production support, process monitoring, and maintaining housekeeping standards. Hemlo has been producing gold for over 30 years and includes an underground mine and 4mtpa gold processing facility situated near the North Shore of Lake Superior. The Temporary Mill Operator will support daily plant operations at Barrick's Hemlo site. Responsibilities include:
- Physically perform required mill duties within the processing plant.
- Work shift schedules across multiple areas of the plant.
- Support production plans and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Communicate with supervisors and prepare for next shift operations.
- Monitor equipment and process performance to maintain quality and productivity.
- Perform regular operational checks and housekeeping tasks.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements

Hemlo Gold Mine
The Hemlo Gold Mine sits about 35 kilometres east of Marathon in northwestern Ontario, along the Trans-Canada Highway north of Lake Superior. One of Canada's longest-running gold camps, Hemlo was discovered in 1981 and has produced gold from both underground and open-pit operations since 1985, yielding roughly 25 million ounces to date. The camp historically hosted three mines — Williams, David Bell, and Golden Giant — of which the Williams operation and its associated underground zones remain active today. The site is supported by established infrastructure, including a 10,000-tonne-per-day mill and a modern underground complex accessed by shaft and ramp, with a western open-pit expansion planned to begin in 2027. The property spans more than 45,000 hectares along the Hemlo greenstone belt and holds over a decade of gold reserves, with an active exploration program targeting further growth near existing infrastructure.
