Mill Operator - Hemlo Gold Mine - 7x7 Rotation 12 Hour Shifts
Barrick Gold Corporation is seeking a Temporary Mill Operator for its Hemlo Operations at the Williams Mine near Marathon, Ontario. This residential position operates on a 7/7 rotation and requires candidates to reside within commuting distance of the site, with a local travel allowance provided. The role reports to the Mill Supervisor and is responsible for supporting various functions within the processing plant, including equipment operation, production support, process monitoring, and maintaining housekeeping standards. Hemlo has been producing gold for over 30 years and includes an underground mine and 4mtpa gold processing facility situated near the North Shore of Lake Superior. Responsibilities
The Temporary Mill Operator will support daily plant operations at Barrick's Hemlo site. Responsibilities include:
- Physically perform required mill duties within the processing plant.
- Work shift schedules across multiple areas of the plant.
- Support production plans and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Communicate with supervisors and prepare for next shift operations.
- Monitor equipment and process performance to maintain quality and productivity.
- Perform regular operational checks and housekeeping tasks.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications for consideration:
- Proven record of safe work practices.
- Valid driver's license and Grade 12 diploma.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, MSDS, and health and safety procedures.
- Understanding of site-specific and departmental operating protocols.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physical ability to operate in a mill environment (walking, climbing, equipment use).
- Ability to wear required PPE and adhere to mine safety protocols.
