De Beers Group seeks a Process Plant Operator - Loader to support ore feed operations at the Gahcho Ku� Mine in Canada on a 14/14 site rotation. Reporting to the Process Plant Supervisor, the role manages ore stockpiles and operates Komatsu WA900 loaders to supply the primary crusher, while assisting with crushing activities and maintaining accurate plant logs. The position emphasizes safe work practices, security compliance, equipment monitoring, and adherence to standard operating procedures within a high-performance process plant environment.

Responsibilities

This role ensures continuous, safe ore feed to the process plant and supports crushing operations through disciplined loader operation and equipment monitoring.

  • Manage ore stockpiles to maintain steady plant feed and material balance.
  • Operate Komatsu WA900 loaders to supply ore to the primary crusher.
  • Monitor and inspect equipment/systems to detect malfunctions and confirm normal operating conditions.
  • Assist with crushing operations as directed by the Process Plant Supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain accurate plant logs, reports, and routine checklists.
  • Perform cleanup duties and maintain work areas according to SOPs and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Follow all security policies; report issues impacting people, environment, information, or product.

Requirements

Candidates bring strong front-end loader experience in mining, proven safety focus, and the ability to support high-availability process plant operations.

  • Minimum 5 years' mine experience on front-end loaders (process plant feed experience is an asset).
  • Strong excavator experience considered an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent life skills.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork in a fast-moving plant environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.

Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine is one of Canada’s largest and richest diamond mines, located in the Northwest Territories approximately 280 km northeast of Yellowknife.
