Operating on a 14/14 schedule with both day and night shifts, this physically demanding role supports Jumbo Drill Operators with material handling, sample collection, equipment operation, and ground support tasks. Jumbo Offsiders assist drill operators and support safe, efficient underground operations through various hands-on tasks.
- Assist Jumbo Drill Operator with site prep and tool handling.
- Handle ore samples and drilling materials.
- Support installation of ground support and mine services.
- Operate underground integrated tool carriers.
- Perform underground truck driving as required.
- Maintain ground support storage areas.
- Assist with mine pump maintenance and repairs.
- Follow safety protocols and communicate effectively with team members.
Requirements
Candidates should have underground mine experience and a willingness to perform physically demanding work in a team setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous underground mining experience required.
- Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core preferred.
- Prior Jumbo Offsider experience an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and assist with a range of duties.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural and safety-first environment.
